EXETER: The Cosmopolitan Seniors Club will meet at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb.16, in St. Anthony’s Center. A Pizza party is planned and to celebrate Valentine’s Day wear something red.

The fifty/fifty winners from the previous meeting were two time winner Aggie Abromavage, Bernardine Bednar, MaryAnn Markowski and Helen Zarychta. The special game prize winner was Juanita Herrick and Tom Alpaugh won the Jackpot prize.

FALLS: The Falls Active Adult Center, SR 92, Exeter Township, is planning a Valentine’s Day concert form 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday by singer and entertainer George Rittenhouse. A special lunch and celebration will follow.

A President’s Day lunch and a lunch and learn on hypothermia will be offered at 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18, by Kelly Langer from Caregivers.

Staff from Rep. Aaron Kaufer’s will be at the center from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25, to assist people with filling out rent rebate forms and property tax forms. They will have the forms available.

HANOVER TWP.: The Lee Park Active Adult Center will host staff from the Golden Living Center at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17, for free blood pressure checks; then at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 22, for a Heart Healthy Presentation.

A representative from CARIE, the PA Senior Medicare Patrol, will do a presentation at 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 24, on protection from Medicare fraud.

February is heart awareness month. A representative from Traditional Hospice will do a presentation at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 29, on Heart Health.

MOUNTAIN TOP: Basic 2-part AARP Driver Safety class will be given from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday and again on Tuesday, Feb. 16, at the Kirby Library, 35 Kirby Ave. First time participants, or more than three years ago, are required to attend both sessions.

A refresher course will be given from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, at the Kirby Library in Mountain Top. This course is for those who have completed either the 2-part basic course or refresher course within the past three years.

These courses are open to anyone and renewable every three years. If over 60 you may qualify for a five percent auto insurance discount for the next three years.

The cost is $20 per person, or $15 for an AARP member. Students should bring pens, a driver’s license, a check payable to AARP to the first class and their AARP membership card, if a member. Call Leslie Loomis at 570-885-0572 soon, classes are limited to 25.

PITTSTON: The Pittston Active Adult Center, 441 N. Main St., is taking reservations for a trip to Sands Casino on Wednesday, April 6, and to the Hollywood Casino on Wednesday, May 25. For information and reservations contact Connie Kokinda, center director, 570-655-5561. Trips fill up fast.

PITTSTON: St Joseph’s Senior Social Club is holding a St. Joseph’s Table in Mt. Carmels Center on Thursday, March 17. There will be a catered lunch and plans will be finalized by the Thursday, Feb. 18, meeting. Payment is needed with your reservation. Outsiders welcome.

On Saturday, March 19, the Feast Day of St. Joseph, the club will go to 10:30 a.m. mass at the Oblates of St. Joseph’s on Route 315 in Pittston. After mass, breakfast at Perkins.

A day trip is planned for Monday, March 21, to the Villa Roma in Callicoon, New York. The day will include St. Joseph’s festivities and dinner. Bingo will be played with time to explore the resort. All inclusive, $79.

PLAINS: Plains Senior Citizens Project HEAD met in January with 46 members in attendance.

Guest speaker, Maggie Klem, spoke about the formation of a parish nurse, or a faith community nurse. She will be based at SS Peter and Paul Parish.

PLYMOUTH: The Senior Citizens’ Friendship Club of St. Mary’s in Plymouth is planning a trip to Hunterdon Hills Playhouse for March 17 (St. Patrick’s Day) to see “Spreading the Green Around.” Transportation, full course sit-down dinner, a special dessert room, the show and all gratuities included. The Mom and Dad dinner in May has announced its committee; Joe and Joan Natishan, Maggie Panek, Al Perlis and Janice Perfetto.

PLYMOUTH: The Shawnee Senior Citizens will meet at 1 p.m. on Thursday at the First Welsh Baptist Church. The executive board at 12:30 p.m.

There will be a Valentine’s Day theme program and members are reminded to bring a sandwich; beverages will be provided.

New members are always welcome.

WILKES-BARRE: The St. Robert Bellarmine seniors will meet at 1 p.m. on Wednesday in the school cafeteria. Servers for this meeting are Otto Eime, Barbara Elgonitis and Frank Forlin. The $5 dues is now being collected.

The drawing winners from the last meeting for the Springer was Frances Conklin; the fifty/fifty winners were Regina Korba, Arline Gritsko and Rosemary Galardi.

A covered dish is planned for the meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 24.
