Jessica Szumski and Matthew Lawrence Nice, together with their families, announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Janice Evanchick, Dupont and the late Karol Szumski. She is the granddaughter of Joseph Pisano, Pittston Twp., the late Blanche Pisano and the late Chester and Evelyn Szumski.

The prospective groom is the son of Lawrence Nice, Kingston, and Lorraine Young, Shavertown. He is the grandson of the late Peter and Theresa Dokas.

Jessica is a 2008 graduate of Pittston Area High School and a 2012 graduate of Misericordia University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology. She earned a Master of Science degree in counselor of education from Marywood University in 2015. She is currently employed as a behavioral specialist consultant by Community Counseling Services, Kingston.

Matthew is a 2007 graduate of Hanover High School and a 2012 graduate of King’s College where he earned a Bachelor of Art degrees in psychology and sociology. He earned a Master of Science degree in counselor of education from Marywood University in 2015. He is currently employed as a behavioral specialist consultant by Evergreen Behavioral Intervention for Children, Luzerne.

The couple will exchange vows in spring 2016.
