HONESDALE — Imagine a witch without her powdery green skin or a clown without his brightly painted face. A costume is just a costume, but a character comes to life when apply Halloween FX makeup to complete the transformation to a zombie, vampire, or ghost.

Halloween FX, a.k.a. effects, makeup is the use of cosmetic special effects techniques to enhance physical features and exhibit metaphysical characteristics. On Tuesday, Oct. 20, a local makeup artist, Regina Chaill, will teach a do-it-yourself workshop on how to apply special effects makeup. The class will run from 7 p.m. to 9 pm. at The Cooperidge, located at 1030 Main St.

Cahill holds a degree in Makeup Design for Film and Television from the Vancouver Film School.

Suggested donation for the workshop is $15, which includes all materials. Reservations for the class can be made by calling 570-253-2020.
