Kathlena Dzanis and Spencer Ball were joined in marriage on Friday, April 17, 2015, in a charming ceremony at the East Mountain Inn in Wilkes-Barre. Overseen by officiant William Saba, the proceedings included magical “Disney” flourishes at every opportunity. String instrument renditions of the Disney songbook set the stage for guests gathering on the lovely garden terrace, where the ceremony was held. The opening words of Mr. Saba also included allusions to the famous love stories that are favorites of the bride and groom.

The bride is the daughter of Joseph and Kathleen Dzanis, Ashley. Kathlena attended Hanover Area High School and King’s College. She is employed by Mohegan Sun Pocono

The groom is the son of Morris Ball and Cecilia Franco Holt, Ripon, California. Spencer attended Modesto Regional Fire Training Academy and is employed as a general manager for Fastenal Company.

The bride was given away in marriage by her parents. Bridesmaids were Melissa Honko and Elizabeth Hauser, friends of the bride.

Groomsmen were Thomas Helms and Jeffrey Stark, friends of the groom.

The mother of the bride was escorted by William Koonrad, cousin to Kathlena. Nicholas Ball, brother to Spencer, escorted the mother of the groom.

A bridal shower was hosted by the mother of the bride at R&D Memories, Lynwood. The parents of the groom hosted the rehearsal dinner at Rustic Kitchen at The Mohegan Sun Pocono, Wilkes-Barre.

The Disney flair continued to appear throughout the wedding reception, with Mickey and Minnie atop the beautiful wedding cake, Cinderella glass slippers at every table and Snow White-themed candy apple favors for guests. The hall was ornamented with back lighting and linens, further adding to the enchantment of the evening.

Following a honeymoon cruise to the Caribbean that included stops in Grand Turk, Aruba, Dominican Republic and Curacao, their next destination was Orlando, Florida. There, they attended Universal Studios and, of course, Walt Disney World.

The couple’s happily-ever-after begins at their residence in Tunkhannock.
