Melissa O’Hara and John F. Callahan were wed in holy matrimony on Jan. 31, 2015. The marriage was officiated by the Rev. Dr. Robert M. Zanicky at the First Presbyterian Church, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Lucille Fenner, Milford, Pennsylvania, and the late Duncan MacLennan Stroyan, formerly of Milford, Pennsylvania.

The groom is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John A. Callahan, formerly of Pittston, Pennsylvania.

Preceded by the bagpiper John Sweeney and escorted by her brother, Timothy Stroyan, the bride wore a Scottish wedding gown of her family’s tartan. She carried a bouquet of roses, thistle and heather.

Ms. Tracy O’Hara, Shavertown, Pennsylvania, daughter of the bride, served as matron of honor. Mr. John F. Callahan Jr., Pittston, Pennsylvania, son of the groom, served as best man. The flower girl was Ava Callahan, Pittston, Pennsylvania, granddaughter of the groom. The ring bearer was Jacob Ruderman, West Pittston, Pennsylvania, grandson of the groom.

The vocalist was Elizabeth O’Hara, Bear Creek, Pennsylvania, daughter-in-law of the bride. Organ and piano music were provided by John Vaida, minister of music, First Presbyterian Church, Wilkes-Barre. Scottish readings and a blessing were given by Eric Stroyan, Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, brother of the bride. Kilt-wearing ushers were Kevin Stroyan, Milford, Pennsylvania, brother of the bride, and Ryan O’Hara, Bear Creek, Pennsylvania, son of the bride.

A reception followed the ceremony at Callahan’s Cafe/Coffee House, Pittston, Pennsylvania, prepared by chef and owner Michael Callahan, son of the groom.

A honeymoon followed at the Cameron Estate Inn, Mount Joy, Pennsylvania.

The couple resides in Dallas, Pennsylvania.
