Kristy McAndrew and John Simonitis were united in marriage on Saturday, June 27, 2015, at St. Therese’s Church, Shavertown, by Father Paisley, followed by a cocktail hour and reception at Mohegan Sun Pocono, Wilkes-Barre.

The bride is the daughter of James and Janis McAndrew, Duryea. She is a granddaughter of the late Matilda and James McAndrew, Duryea, and the late Gertrude and Thomas Moran of Duryea.

The groom is the son of John Simonitis, Forty-Fort and Deborah Simonitis, Dallas. He is a grandson of Rosalie Simonitis and the late John Simonitis, Luzerne, and the late Della and Robert Ostrowski, Dallas.

The bride was given in marriage by her father and chose her best friends Lauren Scalzo of Manhattan, New York, and Gina Shedga of Nanticoke as maid and matron of honor, respectively. Bridesmaids were; sister of the groom, Stephanie Wycallis, Shavertown; cousin of the bride, Holly Zbysheski, Mountain Top; Jenna Walsh, Kingston; Jewel Sulkoski, Los Angeles, California; Stephanie Yachim, Bethlehem; and Angela Genoble, Hanover Township, friends of the bride.

The groom chose his best friend Charles Suppon of Forty-Fort as best man. Groomsmen were brother-in-law, Matthew Wycallis, Shavertown; brother of the bride, James McAndrew, Duryea; Aaron Littzi, Laflin; Darius Kaye, Larksville; Keith Malley, Delray Beach, Florida; and Brian Bennett, Delanco, New Jersey, friends of the groom. The couple’s nephew and God son Matthew Wycallis Jr. was ring bearer.

Mrs. Simonitis is a 2004 graduate of Pittston Area High School and a 2008 graduate of King’s College where she earned a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in mass communications and English. Kristy is employed at eBay Inc.

Mr. Simonitis is a 2002 graduate of Dallas Area High School and a 2007 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science degree in administration of justice. John is employed at Talon Energy, formerly PPL Nuclear Power Plant.

The bride was honored at a bridal shower hosted by her mother at the Gallery at Pierce Plaza, Kingston, in April.

The couple honeymooned in Aruba and reside in Shavertown with their dogs, Maverick and Delaney.
