Cynthia and Joseph Loftus-Vergari of Mountain Top announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their son, Lt. Junior Grade Seth Joseph Loftus-Vergari to Lauren Elizabeth James, daughter of the Honorable Cristine McBurney of Pawtucket, Rhode Island and Richard James, Esq., of Riverside, Rhode Island.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Ann McBurney and the late John McBurney of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, and Louise and Norman James of Barrington, Rhode Island.

The bride-to-be graduated from Fordham University with a master’s degree in development economics and works as a senior analyst for CA Technologies.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Alice and Attilio Vergari of Peckville and the late Lois and Donald Loftus of Carbondale. The prospective groom graduated from Fordham University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and is commissioned as a Naval officer. He received his wings of gold at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida and is designated as a Naval flight officer in the Growler E/A-18G based out of Whidbey Island, Washington.

The couple plans to marry in May 2016 in Newport, Rhode Island.
