Meteors down Lions

Montrose defeated Lackawanna Trail, 7-1, in a Lackawanna League Division 4 game on Monday, May 9 in Factoryville. D.J. Klinges drove in the lone Lions run.

Cavs top Knights

Kyler McAllister drove in three runs to help Scranton Prep defeat Scranton, 6-1, in a Lackawanna League Division 1 game on Monday, May 9 in Scranton. Tyler Stafursky struck out 13 batters and picked up the win.

Cougars clip Comets

Valley View defeated Abington Heights, 1-0, in a Lackawanna League Division 1 game on Thursday, May 5 in Archbald. Anthony Duboski, Zach Spangenberg, Ryan Harvey and James Myers each had a hit for the Comets.

Invaders too much for Cavs

West Scranton downed Scranton Prep, 12-1, in a Lackawanna League Division 1 game on Thursday, May 5 in Scranton. Vince Cimini and Tyler Stafursky each had two hits for Prep.

BOYS LACROSSE

Cavs rout Tigers

Anthony Osticco scored five goals to lead Scranton Prep over Tunkhannock, 17-2, in a Wyoming Valley Conference Division 2 match on Monday, May 9 in Scranton.

Cavs clobber Black Knights

Anthony Osticco scored seven goals to lead Scranton Prep over Lake-Lehman, 16-3, in a Wyoming Valley Conference Division 2 match on Thursday, May 5 in Lehman Township.

Cavs crush Comets

Anthony Osticco scored six goals to help Scranton Prep defeat Crestwood, 17-5, in a Wyoming Valley Conference crossover match on Tuesday, May 3 in Scranton.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Lady Comets edge Classics

Crestwood defeated Scranton Prep, 8-7, in a Wyoming Valley Conference crossover match on Monday, May 9 in Mountain Top. Christine Kaffka and Cara Kopicki each scored three goals for the Classics.

Lady Crusaders rout Classics

Coughlin defeated Scranton Prep, 16-7, in a Wyoming Valley Conference crossover match on Thursday, May 5 in Scranton. Cara Kopicki and Christine Kaffka each scored two goals to lead Prep.

SOFTBALL

Lady Comets shut out Lady Warriors

Dominique Emmett knocked in three runs to lead Abington Heights past Delaware Valley, 8-0, in a Lackawanna League crossover game on Monday, May 9 in Milford. Paige Harris struck out five batters and picked up the win.

Classics top Lady Trojans

Tessa Davis drove in two runs to help Scranton Prep defeat North Pocono, 5-3, in a Lackawanna League crossover game on Monday, May 9 in Covington Township. Ilissa Hamilton struck out nine batters and picked up the win.

Lady Comets blank Lady Cougars

Cassie Toth drove in two runs to help Abington Heights defeat Valley View, 3-0, in a Lackawanna League Division 1 game on Thursday, May 5 in Archbald. Paige Harris struck out six batters in six innings and earned the win.

Classics crush Lady Invaders

Isabella Gorzkowski drove in four runs and Maggie Ferraro added three RBIs to lead Scranton Prep over West Scranton, 10-1, in a Lackawanna League Division 1 game on Thursday, May 5 in Scranton. Ilissa Hamilton struck out nine batters over seven innings to earn the win.

TENNIS

Comets sweep Hornets

Abington Heights defeated Honesdale, 5-0, in a Lackawanna League match on Thursday, May 5 in Honesdale. Sahas Chandragiri, Brandon Ostrowski and Brian Ostrowski had singles wins. The teams of Timmy Christman-Eric Mahoney and Owen Holland-Jacob Rosenstein won in doubles.

Cavs blank Spartans

Scranton Prep defeated Mid Valley, 5-0, in a Lackawanna League match on Tuesday, May 3 in Scranton. Pete Kazmierczak, Tony Kutz and Tarquin McGurrin had singles wins. The teams of Rhys Kelly-Nick LaBelle and Jack Habeeb-Sahil Garg won in doubles.

VOLLEYBALL

Comets hold off Red Raiders

Abington Heights defeated Blue Ridge, 3-1, in a Lackawanna League match on Monday, May 9 in New Milford. Rob McGarry had 12 kills and Rhys Yarns added 22 digs to lead the Comets.
