WILKES-BARRE — City police arrested Lawrence Russel Stepheny on charges he threatened another man with a handgun during a domestic disturbance on Atkin Lane late Monday night.

Stepheny was arraigned Tuesday by District Judge David Barilla in Swoyersville on charges of terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another person. He was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $5,000 bail.

Police allege Stepheny showed up at a residence on Atkin Lane at about 10:30 p.m. seeking a woman he had a domestic incident with earlier. The woman’s father told Stepheny to leave, police said.

Stepheny allegedly brandished a pistol and threatened to shoot the father.

Police said Stephen fled the area and removed a sweatshirt and hat. He was captured on North River Street, police said.
