ASHLEY — There will be no recyclable collection Wednesday; it is scheduled for July 17.
Trash normally collected July 4, a holiday, will instead be collected Wednesday. The collection on Fridayremains the same. Additionally, the secretary’s office and the Zoning Office will be closed Thursday and Friday, reopening July 8.
DUPONT – Council will meet 7 p.m. July 9 at the borough building. Compost meeting is 7 p.m. July 10 at the borough building.
Plastic, cans and bottles will be collected for recycling July 3 and 17; mixed paper and cardboard, July 10 and 24.
DURYEA — The Street Department will be closed Thursday, the Fourth of July holiday. All recyclables will be collected Wednesday. Yard waste will not be collected Friday; regular pickup schedule will resume July 12.
The second quarter sewer bill will be mailed Monday; payment is due by July 31. Penalty and interest will be applied to unpaid balances after that date. Call the Sewer Authority office with questions at 570-457-0122. Office hours are 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and noon to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Borough Council will hold its July meeting and work session July 9 in the borough building. The work session will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the meeting immediately after. The public is invited to attend.
Additionally, the Duryea Sewer Authority meeting will be at 7 p.m. Monday. The public is invited to attend.
EXETER — An error was printed on residents’ recycling calendar. Newspaper will be collected July 1; the calendar will be followed for the rest of July. There will be no yard waste collection this week due to the Fourth of July holiday.
LUZERNE — Sewer Authority will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Borough Council work session has been canceled due to the Fourth of July holiday. Monthly meeting will be held at 7 pm. July 11. All meetings are held at the borough building, 144 Academy St.
Tax collector John Lohman will not be in the office through July 15. Payments can be mailed to the borough building.
PLAINS TOWNSHIP — The Administrative, DPW and Zoning offices will be closed Thursday, for the July Fourth holiday. Collection scheduled for Thursday is rescheduled to Wednesday. The bag limit will be suspended for the week of July 8-11. All other schedules remain the same.
PLYMOUTH — Applications are being accepted for the full-time position of secretary. Experience in financial management and payroll is a plus. WEST PITTSTON — Recyclables will not be collected Thursday, on the Fourth of July holiday. The collection schedule will continue as usual with recyclables collected the third Thursday of the month.
