Stephanie Jallen competes in her second run of the slalom event at the 2015 IPC Alpine Skiing World Championships on Tuesday in Panorama, British Columbia.

It’s been a busy past two weeks for Stephanie Jallen.

The Harding native and Paralympic Alpine Skiier grabbed a bronze medal in the women’s giant slalom at the 2015 International Paralympic Committee Alpine Skiing World Championships on Sunday, March 8 in Panorama, British Columbia.

The two-time Paralympic medalist finished third in the women’s standing class.

After her first run, Jallen was in fourth place, less than a second behind Slovakia’s Petra Smarzova. She finished her second run in 1:08.29 for a total time of 2:20.49 — knocking off Smarzova who finished with a total time of 2:20.54.

“I am really happy with my skiing today,” Jallen said on Team USA’s website following the event. “After my first run, I was sitting in fourth so I knew I needed to have a fast second run to overtake Petra Smarzova and to get the bronze and to do that by five (hundredths) of a second is so exciting.”

Overall, Jallen competed in five events in Panorama.

Jallen came close to medaling in the super-G and super combined races, finishing fourth by less than eight-tenths of a second in each.

Team USA will finish the 2014-15 season at the end of this month with U.S. Paralympics Alpine Skiing National Championships in Loon Mountain, New Hampshire on March 23-26.

Moments from Sochi

One year ago this past week, Jallen was in Sochi, Russia for the 2015 Winter Paralympic Games.

Upon winning her bronze medal inthe women’s super-G, Jallen threw her crutch down and jumped onto the podium.

With tears streaming down her face, she collected her medal.

One year since he heralded the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games the “best ever,” International Paralympic Committee President Sir Philip Craven said that was his second-favorite moment of the Paralympics.

Jallen also scored bronze in the Super Combined.
