Mecadon running for district judge in Pittston area

Attorney Girard Mecadon of Jenkins Township has announced his candidacy for magisterial district judge based in Pittston.


Mecadon serves on the board of directors of the Greater Pittston Chamber of Commerce, is a board member of UNICO National Wilkes-Barre, serves as solicitor in various municipalities and donates his services as solicitor for the Pittston Township Little League and Pittston Tomato Festival.


Mecadon was honored with the Italian-American Association of Luzerne County “Person of the Year” award in 2012 in recognition of outstanding service to the community. He also won the Best Attorney in the Best of Greater Pittston 2012 awarded by The Sunday Dispatch.


He is a graduate of Seton Catholic High School, the University of Scranton and Widener University School of Law. He resides in Jenkins Township with his wife, Christa DeVizia Mecadon.


Mecadon formally will kick off his campaign from 6-8 p.m. Thursday in the upstairs ballroom of the Gramercy Restaurant, 155 S. Main St., Pittston.
