HERSHEY —Wyoming Valley West’s Kyle Krasavage and Coughlin’s Brad Emerick reached the state semifinals.

Each wrestler won his quarterfinal bout Friday afternoon in the Class 3A PIAA Championships.

Krasavage won 2-1 over Big Spring’s Dustin Rook, while Emerick defeated Methacton’s Tracey Green 4-1 to advance to tomorrow’s semifinals which begin at 9 a.m.

Wyoming Area’s Andy Schutz and Lake-Lehman’s Austin Harry secured a state medal Friday morning at the Class 2A PIAA Championships at Giant Center.

Schutz, a 126-pound senior, won his only match of the morning, a second round consolation bout against Kyle Lukowich from Conneaut Area 9-4.

Harry, Lehman’s 132-pound junior, lost his quarterfinal bout to Keystone Oaks’ Nick Zanetta 5-0. It marked the second time in as many years Harry lost to Zanetta in the state quarterfinals.

But the Black Knight rebounded to win his first consolation match defeating Lee Todora from Bethlehem Catholic 3-1.

Schutz and Harry can finish no worse than eighth in the state. They will wrestle again tonight at 6:30 in the third round of consolations to attempt to improve their standings.
