PLYMOUTH — One man is in custody after allegedly stabbing another man in the chest during a fight, according to borough police.

Officers were dispatched just before 3 a.m. Friday to East Walnut Street for a report of a male who had been stabbed.

Responding officers found David Latteer, 50, no address indicated. Latteer had a single laceration to his pectoral area and told police that he was attacked by a larger black male wearing a black T-shirt in front of 22 E. Walnut St.

Responding officers located the suspect, identified as Donnovan Williams, 34, about one block away on Willow Street.

Police said Williams acknowledged that he was involved in an altercation with Latteer before he stabbed him.

Williams and Latteer were both transported to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center for injuries sustained during the altercation.

Latteer was listed as in stable condition, and police said charges are pending against him.

Williams was later transported to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility and arraigned by District Judge Michael Dolzel on charges of simple assault and aggravated assault. Williams is being held in lieu of $25,000 bail.
