WILKES-BARRE — Police responded to a number of calls over the past few days for an unresponsive or visibly intoxicated person who required medical attention.
According to police reports:
• Jose Luis Sanchez, 34, of Plymouth was visibly intoxicated when spotted by an officer on patrol at approximately 9 a.m. Sunday on North Pennsylvania Avenue. Sanchez reported smoking the synthetic marijuana “Spice.” He was cited for public drunkenness and transported to a local medical facility for evaluation. A man with the same name and age, but with a Wilkes-Barre address, was found unresponsive on Union Street at approximately 5:45 p.m. Saturday. He also admitted smoking synthetic marijuana and was issued a citation for public drunkenness.
• John Boston, 45, of Wilkes-Barre was found unresponsive on Public Square at approximately 8:25 p.m. Saturday. He was taken to a medical facility and a citation for public drunkenness was filed.
• Robert Morgans, 63, of Wilkes-Barre was found unresponsive on the sidewalk in the 200 block of East Northampton Street at approximately 3:55 p.m. Saturday. He was taken to a medical facility and a citation for public drunkenness was filed.
• Rachel Roeber, 32, of Pittston was found unresponsive in the area of South River and West South streets at 6:50 p.m. Friday. She was in possession of suspected heroin paraphernalia. She was taken to a medical facility and charges were filed.
• Jason Race, 34, of North Pennsylvania Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, was found to have drug paraphernalia on him when an officer made contact with him near the intersection of North Pennsylvania Avenue and Scott Street just after 1 a.m. on Thursday. The officer reported Race was highly intoxicated and taken to police headquarters where he was held for his own safety. Race was cited for public drunkenness and possession of drug paraphernalia.
