WYOMING — Ideaworks Marketing owner and CEO Peter Steve Jr. said moving to the borough Wyoming is about finding a new home — literally.

The marketing agency held a ribbon cutting ceremony for its new office space at 197 Wyoming Ave. Thursday and also donated a $500 check to Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge in Dallas as a way to support a local charity.

The building is actually a house, with Ideaworks Marketing operating out of the first floor and offering a much homier feel that the business’s former location.

“There’s no pun intended when on the front porch it says, ‘Welcome to our new home’ because that’s what we’re looking at,” he said. “It’s a house, but for us it is a home.”

Ideaworks Marketing is a strategic marketing company founded in Plymouth in 1998 by Steve and his then-partner, the late Robert Aben.

The company’s eight employees focuses on creating solutions to marketing challenges through visual engagement, such as program management and trade show developments.

After operating the business in Plymouth for 17 years, Steve said the decision to relocate to Wyoming came a year ago.

“It was time for a new start,” he said. “The office we had was nice, but it wasn’t an agency office. What we do there is a lot of collaboration with four designers and two writers on board and the office we were located in, everyone had these small pocket offices. It was just time and we found this beautiful location.”

Steve and Donna Hansbury, president of Ideaworks Marketing, found the Wyoming Avenue location and knew it was the right place for their business.

The moving process began in October.

“I think we did it pretty well,” Hansbury said of the move. “We started our lease here on Oct. 15 and our other lease wasn’t up until Nov. 1. Because all of what we do is done on computers, we just needed to make sure that the designers had the jobs they were working on on flash drives. I came here the first week we got the building and worked from here and we picked one day where we literally moved everything over here.”

Ideaworks Marketing signed a three-year lease through JJ Mantione Appraisal Realty Group but Steve anticipates the business will be in Wyoming much longer.

With a lot of clients in different states such as Illinois, Massachusetts, Florida and Maryland, Steve’s biggest goal is to get more involved with the community and serve more local clients.

“We want to bring a presence and take part in the community,” he said. “We do want to get involved in the community and get our presence known and get some business and start working locally. We’ve done so much out of the area networking and trying to build our business; now, we want to focus on it locally. This location is going to make a big difference for us.”
