WILKES-BARRE — Performing sex acts with a teenage girl while drinking in a vacant building has put a Pittston man behind bars for at least six months.

Michael Luis Roman, 31, of North Main Street, was sentenced Monday in Luzerne County Court to spend six to 23 months in Luzerne County Correctional Facility followed by six months probation, according to court papers.

Judge Joseph F. Sklarosky Jr. credited Roman for 127 days served, court documents say. The man must petition for parole.

According to a criminal complaint, Pittston City police found Roman with a 16-year-old girl in a vacant apartment building on Main Street.

Roman was found wearing one shoe with his pants and belt undone, and the girl was also in a state of undress, police say. Both allegedly smelled of alcohol.

The girl told police the acts she and Roman engaged in were consensual, the complaint says, but Roman denied participating in any such acts with the girl.

Roman pleaded guilty in October to one felony count of criminal trespass and one misdemeanor count of corruption of minors, according to court records.
