SCRANTON — A Brooklyn man could spend the rest of his life behind bars after federal prosecutors on Tuesday alleged he trafficked two minors from Wilkes-Barre to New York to engage in sex acts.

Federal prosecutors charged Clinton “Showtime” Hayden, 28, with child sex trafficking, claiming he knowingly recruited, enticed and transported the minors from Wilkes-Barre to New York to engage in sex between May and December, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Hayden was apprehended in Jersey City, New Jersey on Dec. 3 and taken into custody.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the charges were a result of an investigation by agents of Homeland Security Investigations and the Pennsylvania State Police.

Court documents filed Tuesday indicate Hayden will plead guilty.

Hayden, who must register as a sex offender, faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and a potential maximum sentence of life in prison if convicted.
