National Weather Service indicates that while the heat will remain in Wyoming Valley, the sun might not.

Friday will be mostly sunny and reach a high of 84 degrees. Isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected after 2 p.m., however. The highest threat of rain will come after midnight, with the chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms at 40 percent.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely to continue Saturday morning, mainly before 2 p.m. Clouds will hover for the rest of the day with temperatures reaching a high of 85 degrees. Saturday night will cool down with a low of 62 degrees.

Not all hope for fun weekend plans are lost, as the sun is expected to return Sunday, with an expected high of 83 degrees.
