WEST HAZLETON — The daughter of U.S. Rep. Lou Barletta was arrested on multiple charges after an incident Wednesday, court documents show.

Lindsey Barletta, 32, of Hazleton, was charged with one count of theft of services, one count of resisting arrest, one count of disorderly conduct and one count of public drunkenness, according to court records.

According to published reports, West Hazleton police said they received a call Wednesday afternoon from Unik Nail and Beauty Salon, 3 E. Broad St., about a customer refusing to pay for services. When officers arrived, they reportedly found Barletta outside the business.

Barletta allegedly left the salon without paying a $50 bill, telling police she was unhappy with services, published reports say.

When police questioned Barletta, she was allegedly intoxicated and resisted arrest.

The on-duty officer in West Hazleton said he was unable to comment on the incident Friday and referred reporters to Police Chief Brian Buglio who was unable to be reached for comment.

Barletta was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Donald L. Whittaker, Nanticoke.

The Lou Barletta, R-Hazleton, and his wife, Mary Grace, offered support for his daughter Friday evening.

“Mary Grace and I love Lindsey very much and are focused on making sure she gets the help and support she needs,” he said in a statement sent to the Times Leader.

Records show Lindsey Barletta is free on bail.

Her preliminary hearing is set for Sept. 28.
