WILKES-BARRE — A Luzerne County judge Thursday continued Rafael Mora Polanco’s homicide trial until next year.

Mora Polanco, 28, of Hazleton, is charged with the fatal shooting of Jose Marrero last year. Police said Marrero, 35, was shot six times with a .380-caliber handgun on June 11, 2015. He later died at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Hazleton.

At a hearing on a defense motion to continue the hearing, attorney Frank Thomas McCabe II said he was provided phone records and the ballistics report just this week.

Judge Michael T. Vough ordered a continuance in the oft-delayed trial, but warned it would be the last.

“It will not — I repeat — will not be continued again,” Vough said.

Vough scheduled the trial for 9 a.m. Jan. 30.
