COVINGTON TWP. — State police are investigating two related incidents in Lackawanna County.

According to police, a burglary and theft occurred in the maintenance building of Thornhurst Country Club Estates between the hours of 1 p.m. Monday and 1:30 a.m. Tuesday in Thornhurst Township. A window was smashed on the building and a 2005 Chevrolet Duramax 4500 dump truck was stolen. Attached to the trust is a snow plow and salt spreader, police said.

The dump truck was used in an ATM heist at 1:53 a.m. Tuesday from the Bill Shursave Supermarket on the Drinker Turnpike. Two while males drive the truck to the ATM, attached a chain and pulled it away from the building. A portion of the ATM was found on Dorantown Road.

The two suspects were wearing ski masks and gloves.

One male was wearing back and gray sneakers and the second male was wearing a Carhartt style jacket and blue jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to call Pennsylvania State Police in Dunmore at 570-963-3156.
