KINGSTON TWP. — Supervisor Shirley Moyer replaced Supervisor Frank Natitus as vice chairperson of the board of supervisors at the township’s reorganizational meeting on Wednesday.

The annual reorganizational meeting consisted many personnel reappointments, renewed a revised agreement with the Back Mountain Community Partnership and approved the 2017 supervisors’ meeting schedule.

Supervisors made the following appointments:

• Kathleen Sebastian, township secretary, treasurer and representative for the NE PA Insurance Cooperative Board;

• Karen Rose, assistant township manager;

• Jim Reino, supervisor chairman and representative to the BMCP;

• Supervisor Sam Barbose, alternate representative to the BMCP;

• Tara Oliver, tax collector;

• Berkheimer Tax Administrator as earned income tax collector;

• J.H. Williams as township auditor;

• Attorney Benjamin R. Jones III as solicitor to the board of supervisors and planning commission;

• Christopher Borton of Borton-Lawson Engineering as township engineer;

• Barry Isett & Associates Inc. as alternate township engineer and alternate zoning officer;

• Attorney Jack Dean as solicitor to Zoning Hearing Board;

• Attorney Christopher Crawford as alternate solicitor to the Zoning Hearing Board;

• Attorney Donald Brobst as solicitor for the Uniform Construction Code Appeals Board;

• Robert Kline and Raymond Stephens to a five-year term, each, on the Zoning Hearing Board;

• Tom Festa and Richard Rome to a three-year term, each, on the UCC Appeals Board;

• Tom Festa to a four-year term on the Planning Commission;

• Thomas Moyer to a three-year term on the Civil Service Commission;

• James Balavage and David Jenkins to a three-year term, each, on the Kingston Township Police Pension Fund Board of Trustees;

• Attorney James Valentine as solicitor for the township on labor issues;

• John Turner as emergency management administrator; and

• Gary Beisel as assistant emergency management administrator.

Supervisors approved an amended Back Mountain Community Partnership Articles of Agreement. The agreement now recognizes Harveys Lake Borough as a member.

Harveys Lake Borough joined the BMCP in late 2014, but the agreement did not reflect the inclusion.

The BMCP agreement was changed to allow non-elected qualified person to be appointed by the participating municipalities to serve on the BMCP board.

The monthly supervisors’ meetings will be held at 7:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month. The public work sessions are scheduled for 7 p.m. on the Monday before the Wednesday meeting. All meetings are held at the Kingston Township Municipal Building, 180 E. Center St., Shavertown.
