Spike TV has announced a new one-hour special featuring the Wyoming Valley’s resident Ink Master Ryan Ashley Malarkey.

Malarkey, of Shavertown, will star alongside fellow female ‘Ink Master’ competitors Kelly Doty, Nikki Simpson and Gia Rose on “Ink Master Angels,” which is slated to debut later this year.

According to a press release from Spike TV, the network decided to green light the special because of the rise in popularity of the successful female artists during 2016’s eighth season of the popular reality series.

Malarkey, who weathered a field of 30 competitors to take the title of Ink Master, was a favorite of both fans and judges during the competition.

“Ink Master Angels” will follow Malarkey, Doty, Simpson and Rose as they travel throughout the U.S. competing against other reputable artists who will try their skills against the “Angels.”

Ryan Ashley Malarkey, left, talks with her friend and assistant, Eryn Sullivan, at an ‘Ink Master’ viewing party at Franklin’s in downtown Wilkes-Barre in November. Malarkey will star in a new special ‘Ink Master Angels,’ which is due to premiere later this year.
