The Wyoming Valley is under a flood watch through Sunday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

The watch, issued for Luzerne County, warns of possible minor flooding of the Susquehanna River. The NWS urges residents to monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings.

The forecast

The NWS indicated it was 39 degrees as of 9:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and fog was reported.

There is a chance of rain before noon, but it will be mostly cloudy with a high near 46.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy with a low around 35.

The Wyoming Valley will get a break from the rain Sunday, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 54.

Some clouds will roll in Sunday night with a low around 36.

There is a slight chance for rain Monday, mainly after 3 p.m. It will be mostly cloudy with a high near 57.

Rain is expected to move in Monday night, mostly after 9 p.m. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent, with a low around 44.
