The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for the Wyoming Valley.

According to NWS, an isolated severe thunderstorm is possible Sunday afternoon and evening. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to move into central New York and northeast Pennsylvania Sunday. There is a possibility that an isolated thunderstorm or two could have damaging winds and large hail Sunday afternoon and evening.

The forecast

The National Weather Service indicated it was 54 degrees as of 8:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and overcast skies were reported.

Today showers and possibly a thunderstorm expected after 10 a.m. High near 73. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent.

Showers and storms will continue through tonight, with mostly cloudy skies and a low of 62.

Monday will see scattered showers in the morning, with the possibility of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Cloudy skies with a high near 73. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.

Monday night more showers likely and possibly scattered showers and thunderstorms after 7 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 55.
