What trickery is this? Fascinate your friends with this April Fools’ mind game.

In order for this trick to work, you must concentrate while setting up or the trick may be played on you.

What you will need:

A set of colored markers or crayons

A white piece of paper

Instructions:

1. Write the names of colors on your white paper, but use a different color marker or crayon than the word you write. For example, use a red marker to write the word “green” and a blue marker to write the word “orange.” When you are finished, your paper should have a bunch of colored words.

2. When playing this trick on someone, point to one of the words and ask the person to read the word you point to. Because the word is different from the color seen, they may get tricked.

3. As you move on, point to each word quicker and quicker.

4. Once you’ve gone through all the words, change the directions. Tell the person to say the color of the word you’re pointing to. This is quite tricky, too.

The reason this gets confusing is because it works both sides of your brain at the same time. One side wants to read the words and the other wants to say the color.
