WILKES-BARRE — Mild temperatures and mostly sunny skies should make for ideal conditions for watching Monday’s eclipse, according to the National Weather Service.

The high is expected to top out at around 85, while the low should dip to 70 overnight. Expect a small chance for rain between 3-10 p.m.

Experts are predicting severe thunderstorms on Tuesday evening. A hazardous weather outlook has already been issued for parts of Southern New York and Northeastern Pennsylvania. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain.

The high will be 90 and the low around 68.

Wednesday appears mostly sunny, but cooler. The high will be around 78. The low will be near 56.

Thursday will stay cool and clear with a high of only 75. The low will be 55.
