Penceks celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Frederick William Pencek, Bear Creek Twp., and Greenville, S.C., formerly of Clarks Summit, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married Sept. 14, 1963, in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Scranton, by the late Rev. Walter P. Fetterly.

They were attended by Elizabeth Hull Runkle, Reading, cousin of the bride; Mary Theresa Forgan Paddock, Syracuse, N.Y.; Virginia Bresser Carpenter and daughter Linda Bresser, Marietta, Ga.; James T. Williams, Bay City, Mich.; Richard Pencek, Olyphant; John Caine and Dennis Kulonda, Orlando, Fla.

Mrs. Pencek is the former Carol Jean Pfaff, daughter of the late John Edward and Elizabeth Caroline Weber Pfaff.

Mr. Pencek is the son of the late Frederick and Romayne Mary Shafer Pencek. He retired from IBM after 34 years.

The couple has three children, Michael Frederick, Charlotte, N.C.; Mark David, Liberty Twp., Ohio and Joyce Elizabeth Yoder, Allentown. They also have four grandchildren, Evan and Julia Pencek, N.C. and Tatum and Tanner Pencek, Ohio.

They marked the occasion with a blessing service by the Rev. George J. Mathews, Trinity Lutheran Church, Clarks Summit, and a dinner at the Stroudsmor Country Inn, Stroudsburg.
