John and Barbara Stoffel Bath, Warrior Run, high school sweethearts and graduates of Meyers High School Class of 1961, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on April 4. They were married on April 4, 1964 at St. Aloysius Church, Wilkes-Barre, by the Rev. John Dacey.

The bride’s uncle, the late Charles Smith, Wilkes-Barre, gave the bride away. Cousin of the bride, Elaine Smith Saba, Dallas, was the maid of honor. Marion Smith Grogan, Forty Fort, cousin of the bride, and Shirley Bath Larnerd, Dupont, sister of the groom, were bridesmaids.

Best man was Alexander Petrovich, Endicott, N.Y. Ushers were the late Kenneth Brislin, Wapwallopen, and the late Paul Francis, Wilkes-Barre.

John is the son of the late George and Eva Jeckel Bath, Warrior Run. Barbara is the daughter of the late Martha Decker Stoffel, Wilkes-Barre.

John worked for Carpenters Local 514 until he retired in 2004 and Barbara worked at Sallie Mae until she retired in 2005.

The couple has two daughters and five grandchildren, Deborah Bath Shannon and sons, Christopher and Scott, and Lisa Marie Bath and son, Dalton, and twin daughters, Taylor and Ashley, all of Warrior Run.

The couple will celebrate with a family dinner and a trip to Nova Scotia this summer.
