Patricia and Anthony Amato celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 6, 2014. Mr. and Mrs. Amato were united in marriage on June 6, 1964, at SS. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, Plains Township, Pennsylvania, by the Rev. Thomas Skotek.
The maid of honor was the late Eva Zaniewski and the best man was Robert Zavada.
Patricia is the daughter of the late Mary Molitoris Zaniewski and the late Alex Zaniewski, Plains Township.
She is retired from the former First Eastern Bank, Kingston, and the former First Liberty Bank and Trust, Pittston.
Anthony is the son of the late Angeline Bruno Amato and the late Joseph Amato, Luzerne.
Anthony is a retired food service salesman from Weis Food Service, Pittston. He is employed by Petroleum Service Company, Wilkes-Barre.
Patricia and Anthony have been blessed with three children: Maria Kovaleski and her husband Joseph, Swoyersville; Lisa Lecce and her husband Kevin, Plymouth; and Joseph Amato and his wife Jennifer, Forty Fort.
They are also the proud grandparents of seven grandchildren, Christopher, Alexandra, Nikolas, Bryanna, Samantha, Sara and Toni.
Patricia and Anthony will renew their wedding vows at a blessing and Mass at Holy Family Parish, Luzerne. They will celebrate with their family at a brunch given by their children following the service.
