Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Rizzo, Pittston, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on February 27. They were married Feb. 27, 1965, in St. Stanislaus Koska Church, Wilkes-Barre, by the Rev. Francis Zolchinski.
Their attendants were Carol Barnet Fedorchak, maid of honor, and Dolores Maksel Melman and Carolyn Sydlo, bridesmaids. Maureen Petroski Coleman was the flower girl. Groomsmen were the late Joseph Fedorchak, best man, and John Hilinski and Robert Frankelli. William Molewski was the ring bearer.
Joe is the son of the late William and Catherine Rizzo. He is retired from the Pittston City Fire Department and is also retired from the Pittston Area School District as a security officer.
Janet is the daughter of the late Frank and Blanche Hilinski. She is retired from Karibe, Inc., West Pittston.
They are the proud parents of two daughters, Deborah Benkoski and husband Bryan and Lisa Splendido and husband Joe. They have one grandchild, Cody Benkoski.
Joe and Janet will be celebrating their anniversary on a trip to Las Vegas in March and are planning a cruise in the near future. A party is being held in their honor with family and friends by their daughters at Arcaro & Genell’s, Old Forge.
