(AP) Hundreds of mourners are gathering in a cemetery west of Athens for the funeral of a 34-year-old musician a day after he was stabbed to death in a killing blamed on a member of the extreme right-wing Golden Dawn party.

Pavlos Fyssas, described as an anti-fascist activist, was being buried in the Schisto area Thursday. He died from two stab wounds to the chest. Police arrested a suspect who they say has admitted the killing.

Anti-fascist protests turned violent in several Greek cities Wednesday night, with rock-throwing demonstrators clashing with riot police firing tear gas and stun grenades.

Golden Dawn supporters are notorious for their thuggish behavior and for carrying out violent attacks against immigrants. This is the most serious attack attributed directly to a party member.
