(AP) Prosecutors in Philadelphia could wrap up five weeks of evidence Thursday in the capital murder trial of a longtime abortion provider.

Dr. Kermit Gosnell is charged in the deaths of a patient and seven babies allegedly killed after being born alive.

The defense denies there were any live births at Gosnell's Philadelphia clinic, where women from across the mid-Atlantic sought late-term abortions.

Gosnell's co-defendant also is calling witnesses Thursday.

Eileen O'Neill, who is not a licensed doctor, is charged with racketeering and theft for allegedly billing as a doctor.

A prosecution witness testified Thursday that she waited hours for "the doctor" to arrive, then received two pills from O'Neill for a non-surgical abortion.

On cross-examination, the woman said she did not know if O'Neill consulted with a doctor that day.
