(AP) Mexico's Victor Terrazas won the vacant WBC super-bantamweight title Saturday night, outpointing countryman Christian Mijares in a split decision at Arena Ciudad de Mexico.


Terrazas (37-2-1) received winning scores of 114-113 and 115-112 from two judges, and the third scored it 114-113 for Mijares (47-7-2).


The 30-year-old Terrazas, is the ninth Mexican to hold the WBC super-batamweight title.


Mijares is a former WBC super-flyweight champion.
