(AP) Jay Brophy is one of 4,500 or so former players who are part of the concussion-related lawsuit that the NFL is willing to pay $765 million plus legal fees to settle.

There's no guarantee that Brophy will ever see a dime. He's OK with that.

The former Miami Hurricanes and Miami Dolphins linebacker is 53, and has been told by doctors that he has the brain of a 70-year-old. He has no idea how many concussions he had in his playing days.

He says he's been told he's dealing with what's known as dementia pugilistica, a disease that typically affects boxers and other athletes who take repeated blows to the head. But Brophy also says he has no regrets, and hopes the NFL's money could help others avoid some of the problems he's dealing with.
