The Navy Band Northeast’s Pops Ensemble will give a free performance at 7 p.m. Friday, March 13 at the Theater at Lackawanna College, 501 Vine St., Scranton.

SCRANTON – The Navy Band Northeast’s Pops Ensemble will perform at 7 p.m. onFriday, March 13 at the Theater at Lackawanna College, 501 Vine St. Tickets are free and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Under the direction of Lieutenant Gregory Fritz, Navy Band Northeast is one of 11 official bands of the United States Navy worldwide. The band is attached to the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, R.I. Comprised of 45 professional Navy musicians from across the county, the Pops Ensemble performs a wide variety of musical styles, including crowd favorites such as “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” “America the Beautiful” and “Irish Tune from County Derry.”

The performance is co-sponsored by the St. Patrick’s Parade Association of Lackawanna County, the Armed Forces Committee of NEPA and Lackawanna College.

Navy Band Northeast will also kick off the Scranton St. Patrick’s Parade at noon on Saturday, March 14.

Tickets, which are limited to four per person, are available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the front desk inside Lackawanna College’s main building, 501 Vine St., Scranton.
