The Northern Tier Symphony will give two spring concerts in April, the first at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 19 at Tunkhannock Area Middle School, and the second at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 25 at Wallenpaupack High School in Hawley.

TUNKHANNOCK — The Northern Tier Symphony announced its spring program includes concerts at two locations in April.

The orchestra, led by music director and conductor Robert Helmacy, will perform at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 19 at Tunkhannock Area Middle School, and again at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 25 at Wallenpaupack High School in Hawley.

The program for the concert consists of the world premiere of “Fanfare for Orchestra,” composed by Joseph Knaus of Laflin; “Capriccio Italien,” by Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and “Symphony No. 4,” by Anton Bruckner.

All seating for the concerts is general admission. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children and can be purchased at the door or the following locations: Player’s Row Music Supply, 221 Main Ave., Hawley; The Trading Post, 216 Main Ave., Hawley; DNF Music, 627-2 Main St., Honesdale; Gay’s True Value Hardware, 189 E. Tioga St., Tunkhannock; Greenwood’s Furniture, 61 E. Tioga St., Tunkhannock and JR’s Hallmark, 512 Towne Plaza, Tunkhannock.

The Northern Tier Symphony Orchestra was founded in 2010 as a non-profit community orchestra with the goal of bringing live classical music to the Endless Mountains region of Pennsylvania. It is based in Tunkhannock, where it presents several concerts each year. Concerts are also presented in Towanda and Honesdale.
