This horse shown, “Hope,” was made at the Abington Art Studio in collaboration with new Clarks Summit neighbor, Marley’s Mission. It was completed in January 2013 in about 12 hours using more than 2,000 recycled plastic caps that were collected by students in the area and from area hospitals.
The students chose the silhouette in a rearing position to represent “picking yourself up and moving on, with HOPE.”
The horse will be on display at the Abington Community Library through July 4. “Hope” will find a permanent home at Marley’s Mission, located in Newton Twp.
