The Music Box Players will present the Tony-award winning musical “The 25th Annual Putman County Spelling Bee” June 20 to 23 at the Music Box Dinner Playhouse, 196 Hughes Street, Swoyersville.

The show depicts a group of young adolescents (played by adults) who are experiencing the pains and joys of growing up. One of the special treats of this musical is that audience members may volunteer to join the spelling bee on stage.

This is the first time the show has been presented on the Music Box stage and promises to be one the funniest and unique musicals to be presented in the area, according to the group.

Music and Lyrics are by William Finn, Book by Rachel Sheinkin, and the Music Box version is directed by Jessica Werbin.

Cast members include Sarah Pellegrini, Anjanette Roczniak, Jonathan Vojtko, Karl Kleist, Jennifer Johnson, Jimmy Williams, Michael Radzwilla, Dana Feigenblatt, and Scott Werbin.
