LONG POND – Pocono Raceway announced the July 4 IZOD IndyCar Series test session, in preparation for the July 6-7 Pocono INDYCAR 400 Fueled by Sunoco race weekend, will be open for fans to attend for free.
Additionally, the raceway will host a Fireworks Spectacular, which benefits the Tunkhannock Township Volunteer Fire Department, on Saturday, July 6.
The IndyCar Series test, featuring all cars entered in 400-mile race, is scheduled for 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on July 4. Gates will open at 8 a.m. and fans will have access to select Grandstand seats. Fans may enter through Gate 7, located off of Route 115, or Gate 5, located off of Long Pond Road.
Once on track property, parking attendants will direct fans on where to park their vehicles. Select concessions will also be available. Coolers are permitted (must be 12 x 12 or smaller), but glass is strictly prohibited. All cooler, bags and individuals are subject to search.
The Pocono Raceway Fireworks Spectacular, taking place on July 6, is open to the public to attend with a $5 donation per vehicle. Those attending will also have access to Pocono Raceway’s Infield Concert Stage and Block Party, featuring live entertainment and activities for all ages to enjoy.
The public may enter as early at 7 p.m. through the Gate 1 Tunnel. Once inside the raceway, fans will be directed on where to park in a designated infield lot. The fireworks are set to begin at approximately 9:15 p.m. All vehicles in the designated lot, attending the fireworks, must exit the infield by 1 a.m. Coolers (must be 12 x 12 or smaller) are allowed. All vehicles, coolers and individuals are subject to search.
