LONG POND — Columbian Carlos Munoz will be on the pole for today’s Indy Lights race at Pocono Raceway.

Munoz beat out a high school senior from nearby Nazareth to win the pole. He turned a fast lap of 188.861 mph. He will be joined on the front row by Sage Karam.

Karam, an 18-year-old who will be a senior this fall at Nazareth Area High School, turned a fast lap of 187.302 mph.

Karam has won the last two Indy Lights races and will go for his third straight victory at 4 p.m. today. The race will be televised on the NBC Sports Network.

Munoz, 21, finished second at this year’s Indy 500.
