Eva Swantko, 91, formerly of Front Street, Hanover, Nanticoke, died
Thursday in Birchwood Nursing Home, NanticokeA lifelong resident of Nanticoke,
she was the daughter of the late Peter and Elizabeth Phillip Sivilich.
She was the oldest member of Holy Transfiguration of Our Lord Church,
Hanover, Nanticoke, and had been active with many of its organizations.
She and her husband, John, owned and operated Swantkos’ Cut-Rate Store,
Hanover, Nanticoke, for several years.
She was preceded in death by her husband; sisters, Mary Moridk, Anna
Mechak, Pearl Wira and Julia Vendola; brothers, Michael, Steve and Joseph
Sivulich cq .
Surviving are her daughters, Mrs. Peter Paul (June) Olszewski,
Wilkes-Barre; Mrs. Gerald (Joan) Stashak, Hilton Head, S.C.; five
grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Helen Dobracki,
Clearwater, Fla.; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday from the Grontkowski Funeral
Home P.C., 51-53 W. Green St., Nanticoke, with Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. in
Holy Transfiguration of Our Lord Church.
Interment will be in parish cemetery, Nanticoke.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
Parastas services will be at 7:15 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Nicholas
Kostiuk officiating.
