WILKES-BARRE – Luzerne County President Judge Thomas Burke appointed two new local attorneys to the county’s conflict counsel pool.
David Lampman, of Wilkes-Barre, and Allyson Kacmarski, of Mountain Top, were appointed Friday as the newest members of the pool of lawyers for an annual salary of $26,946.
A conflict counsel attorney represents clients when a public defender originally appointed to the case has a conflict of interest, such as representing a co-defendant.
Conflict counsel attorneys must be certified and often represent defendants facing the death penalty.
Michael Senape, an attorney based in Freeland, recently resigned as a member of the conflict counsel pool.
