CLARKS SUMMIT – Planning a wedding can be difficult, but having one company taking care of several aspects can make it a little easier.

For the past 27 years, Frankie Carll Productions in Clarks Summit has been one of the premierlocations in the area to book a photographer, videographer, DJ or band for a wedding or special event.

“Simultaneously on a Saturday we can shoot three videos, do two photography jobs, book a band and eight DJ jobs, so sometimes in a weekend we can do 25 weddings,” said Carll.

“We’re really proud, because we control our product. In other words, we don’t subcontract to anyone. That’s a big thing, we do all of our in-house design. We have two full-time editors for our video department, so we also do commercial video and corporate stuff, and then we have a full-time photo editor that takes care of all of our photo editing and album designs.”

Originally from New York, Carll got his start as a musician, touring the country with his band Night Move in the 1970s.

He decided to move to the Abingtons and take up residence in Scott Township in 1984 after noticing a need for this type of business in the area.

“A friend of mine opened up a catering hall called the Montage Manor, which is now the Via Appia,” said Carll.

“And my band came out here to play his opening New Year’s Eve. And when I came out he took me around the area, and showed me all the catering that was around here, and there was no real organized business doing what I do. So two years later, I loaded my truck and moved to Beverly.”

Carll immediately started a band when he came to the area—Fancy Dancer, which he still plays with today—and began performing shows at night while he built his business during the day.

“I started getting involved in the DJ business and then video, because video was always a passion of mine,” said Carll. “About 10 years ago, we went into the photography business and created this whole one-stop shop, and here we are.”

Fueling Carll’s fire to keep expanding the business over the years has been a love for what he is doing. And after almost three decades, he said that love is still there.

“It’s a great business,” said Carll. “I’m a really lucky guy, I love what I do, I still have a passion for it, and now my kids work for me.”

Carll’s son, Peter, 18, edits video, shoots video and DJs; his daughter, Krista, 23, works as a photographer and Carll’s wife, Kathleen, is the business sales manager and the lead singer of Fancy Dancer.

Over the years Frankie Carll Productions has earned a reputation for quality among those he has done business with, but in the Abingtons he is probably more well-known for his commitment to his community.

A member of the Abington Business and Professional Association for the past 25 years, and one-time president, Carll has made it a point to lend a helping hand. He has donated time and DJ services to the Clarks Summit Festival of Ice, as well as other events in the area.

While he helps with many organizations already, he said he is always looking for more.
