The Pittston Panther A-team will host the Greater Pittston League Super Bowls today. Pittston will play the Wilkes-Barre Bears in the A Super Bowl. The Panthers defeated Monroe Black last Sunday 26-0 to advance. The Bears beat Lake Lehman 22-0.
The two teams know each other well. They played each other four times both winning twice and losing twice so the Super Bowl will be the rubber match. The Panther A-team has set a record as it will compete in the fourth consecutive Super Bowl and three of the four have been at Albert West Park, home of the Panthers.
The Pittston B-team’s guest for the Super Bowl came to an end last week in a hard fought 22-6 loss to #1 seed Lake Lehman. Here is today’s schedule: C game – Larksville vs. Monroe Gold 12 noon; B-game – Larksville vs. Lake Lehman; A game- Wilkes-Barre vs. Pittston A-team at approximately 3 p.m.

The Duryea Wildcats C-team entered in to the first round off playoffs against the Forty Fort Flyers last Sunday in Dallas in the Wyoming Valley West League. The Duryea Wildcats. Paul Brady, Dylan Ratzin, and Donovan O’Boyle made touchdowns for the Wildcats. Dylan Ratzin had a 2-point conversion and Nikolas Cinquegrani also made a 2 extra points and Stephen Yuhas with an extra point.
The Duryea Wildcats played in the second round against The Dallas Jr. Mounts yesterday, Saturday in Swoyersville. The Duryea Wildcats record for the 2007 season is 6-3. The winner of yesterday’s game will advance to the Super Bowl
The Duryea Wildcats B-team entered into the first round of playoffs playing against the Swoyersville Sailors last Sunday and their season ended with a 22-0 loss. The Sailors will enter to the second round of playoffs. The B-team record for this season was 4-5.
The Duryea Wildcats D team had a close game last Saturday playing against the Dallas Jr Mounts. Kevin Krawczyk scored the first TD and also had the 2-point conversion with a pass from Walter Coles. Also Walter Coles scored the winning TD. Outstanding blocking on the offensive line Brian Miller, Nick Harth, Johnathan Winter and Tim Higgins. Big plays were from the defense by Lucas Barinski, Joe Carey, Michael George.
The Dallas Jr Mounts Josh Lydon and Todd Phillips each scored TDs for the Dallas ball control offense. Great blocking by Jerry Ogurkis, Connor Maloney, Shawn Henniger, The Defense led by Jay Bitner, Jarod Hislop, Xander Shaner, gave up a quick score was then able to keep Wildcats out of the end zone the rest of the way until the last play of the game. With 5 seconds left Dallas up by 1 score and the play resting on Duryea 40 yard line the Dallas defense needed just one more to stop. The Duryea quarterback Walter Coles scrambled 60 yards for the win capping the great game with a Super Bowl atmosphere. Also congrats to the Duryea Wildcats and Dallas Jr Mounts D-team cheerleading for their awesome halftime show.

The Exeter Panthers C Team ended their season in the Wyoming Valley West League last Sunday with an incredible play off game against the Plymouth Shawnee Indians. Neither team scored the entire four quarters of the game, requiring overtime to be played. Exeter held Plymouth from getting a first down throughout the entire game but lost their battle in the end with Plymouth scoring a touchdown in overtime. The final score was 6-0.
Players of the week and Honorary Captains were Patrick Bartoli and Jude Satkowski. The C Team captains for the season were Bobby Acacio, Mitchell DeAngelo, and Kyler Higgins. The Exeter Panthers C Team was coached by Brian Butler, Bob Acacio, Chuck Cannel, Mark DeAngelo, and Tim Sarnak. Graduating A, B, C, and D Team players are looking forward to their final game of the season in the Wyoming Valley West Youth Football and Cheerleading Conference Charity Bowl scheduled for November 11 in Swoyersville.
