PLAINS TWP. – A man from Massachusetts was charged for trespassing on federal property on Wednesday.
Enrique Perez, 33, of Northampton, was charged with defiant trespass and tampering with evidence. He was arraigned in Wilkes-Barre Central Court on Thursday and jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $25,000 bail.
Police at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center alleged Perez was observed running on hospital property for no reason just before 10 p.m., according to the criminal complaint.
Perez was allegedly in possession of a Florida identification card that does not belong to him.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled on July 6 before District Judge Diana Malast in Plains Township.
KINGSTON – Police charged Jonathan James Shipman, 35, of West Market Street, with simple assault and harassment after he allegedly punched his girlfriend during a dispute on June 19. Shipman was arraigned in Wilkes-Barre Central Court on Wednesday and jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $2,000 bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled on July 7 before District Judge Paul Roberts in Kingston.
