UGI/Penn Natural Gas 21

Gattuso Group 14

The UGI/Penn Natural Gas Magic defeated the Gattuso Group Accountant & Consultants Spurs, 21-13.
Ben O’Connell led the Magic with 13 points followed by Colin Bowanko with six points and Evan McClain with two points. Aiden Nelson did a nice job rebounding while David Smith was strong on the defensive side of the ball.
Mason Gattuso scored seven points for the Spurs while Jack Ziemba chipped in four points, Justin Finerelli had two points and Dole Wyffels scored the last point. Nate Maransky was a rebounding machine and Steve Finerelli and Parker Del Santo hustled on defense.

Apollo Group 20

Dr. Kovalick 11

The Apollo Group Knicks outscored the Dr. Kovalick Sixers, 20-11.
Derek Answini led the Knicks with nine points while Ethan Zawatski added seven points and Josh Lupole put in four points. Darren Kerdesky, Josh Wyandt and Zach Bloom played excellent defense.
Brody Strickland and Andrew Kovalick chipped in four points and three points, respectively, while Josh Lydon and Bernie Frantz added a bucket each. Joel Chacke led the defense while Rusty Coolbaugh and Vince Vespico grabbed some rebounds.

Dallas Rotary 26

Mike and Tony Caravaggio, Jake Weiland and Eric Berley combined for 11 points while Dylan Lisnow and Chris Murray played outstanding defense in a 31-26 win over the Dallas Rotary Timberwolves.

Burger King 25

Bishop Photo 24

The Burger King Suns beat the Bishop Photo Lakers, 25-24, in what was one of the best games of the Suns’ season.
Chris Carver led the Suns with 14 points while Hunter Landon added six points. The game came down to the last seven seconds and the Suns, with an impressive full court press, were able to secure the win.
Defensive standouts were Joey Deyo, Daniel Hodle and Lane Hale. Josh Jarden had a great game with assistants and steals. Nick Matcho did an excellent job protecting and handling the ball.
Bradley Adams stole the ball in the final seconds and then was fouled and made one of two free throws to put the Suns up by two. The strong full court press then secured the win.
Scoring points for the Lakers were Thomas Marsola and Andrew Grabowski with two points each, Hunter Resavage with four, Adam Borton with six and David Schuster with 10. The Lakers’ defense was lead by Chris Banas and Dante Marianacci

Gordon & Long Real Estate 18

Quad Three Group 17

The Gordon & Long Real Estate Cavaliers defeated the Quad Three Group Celtics, 18-17, in a tough defensive battle.
Nick Kocher led the Cavs with 11 points. Jay Bittner scored four points, making two clutch free throws with less than a minute remaining which proved to be the winning points.
Collin Gleco chipped in three points. Drew Patton returned to action and played solid defense. Zach Palfey and Jake Novitski hustled the whole game.
Leading the Celtic offense were Matt Mathers with 10 points and Chris Hadsall with six points. Anchoring the Celtic defense were Zach Miller and John Betzko.

Orthopedic Consultants 31

Fieldhouse Sporting Goods 23

The Orthopedic Consultants Bulls defeated the Fieldhouse Sporting Goods Hornets, 31-23.
David Chopyak had 17 points, including an amazing half-court buzzer beater. Blake Chopyak added five points. John Stashnik and Nick Solinsky led the defense.
The Hornets were led in scoring by Dalton Simpson with 13 while John Macey and Matt Dillon added two field goals a piece. Michael Luksic was the leading rebounder for the Hornets with 12 boards.
5th & 6th GRADE BOYS

Gattuso Group 38

Thirty-One Lake Street 21

Tanner Gattuso scored 26 points and Matt Harrison added eight as the Celtics overcame an 11-0 deficit to defeat the Thirty-One Lake Street Magic, 38-21.
Cody Coolbaugh and Cory Metz added two points each for the Gattuso Group while David Simpson had six points for the Magic. Colby Jimmie led the rebounding and Griffin Stone keyed the defense.

Dr. Kovalick 33

Bishop Photo 21

Chad Phillips scored 17 points and Spencer Bowanko added eight as Dr. Kovalick’s Cavaliers topped the Bishop Photo 76ers, 33-21.
Michael Kovalick had key rebounds for the Cavs while Chandler Caruso scored eight points for the Sixers and Steven Darling added seven. The defense was led by Andrew Matcho.

Gallis Insurance 44

Belrick Corp. 33

Aaron Yurko scored 13 points and Chris Mennig added 11 as the Lakers from Gallis Insurance defeated the Belrick Corp. Spurs, 44-33.
Conner Motley and Jason Anderson combined for an additional 13 points for the Lakers. Ray Ostroski had 16 points for the Spurs, followed by Paul Zablotney with eight. Connor Macarty added five points and Zach Charlton had a basket.
5th & 6th GRADE GIRLS

Geibs Sheetrocking 22

Brace’s Orchard 20

Caroline Banas scored 12 points to give the Geibs Sheetrocking Sky a 22-20 win over the Brace’s Orchard Monarchs.
Madison Goodwin and Jessica Blat both added four points to the Sky score.
Emilee Zawatski led the Monarchs’ scoring with 10 points while Paige Evans added six and Arden Rice had four. Janelle Sherman and Ally Rome were defensive standouts for their teams.

Smith Insurance 11

Team Liberty from Bendick Law office defeated the Smith Insurance Storm, 14-11.
Brielle Brace led the scoring for Liberty while Leah Gorr, Alyssa Parente and Carly Clemente led the defense.
Catherine Dillon was high scorer for Team Storm while Madison Crawford and Miranda Roche both added two points. Courtney Devens played strong defense for the Storm, forcing several turnovers.

Gattuso Group 26

McCabe Mortgage 18

Nicole Wren led the Gattuso Group Silver Stars to a 26-18 victory over the McCabe Mortgage Group Shockby scoring 20 points.
Ivy Chamberlain and Emily Howell played their best defensive games of the season for the Silver Stars.
Lauren Dottor scored 14 points for the Shock while Emma Doran added four. Shayla Stuart played strong Shock defense and had three steals.

Amory Medical 23

Grasshopper Lawns 12

Courtney Hoats scored 13 points and Madison Kaminski scored eight when the Amory Medical Sparks defeated the Grasshopper Lawns Mercury, 23-12. Talia Kosierowski led Mercury scoring with eight while Katie Kravitsky added four.
Anna Lehane and Madison Slacktish played strong defense for the Sparks.

Megan Miller and Alexis Wyandt led a well-balanced defensive attack for theUPS Store Sun to give it a win over the Central Clay Fever, 23-17.
Alexa Dosiak scored eight points and Breianna Coolbaugh scored two for the Sun.
Maddie Kelley led the Fever scoring with 13 points while Lia Barbacci tossed in two.
SKILLS COMPETITION

Girls

Dallas Youth Basketball fifth and sixth-grade girls held their annual skills competition on Monday, Jan 25, at Wycallis Elementary School. Prizes were given in the categories of lay-ups and free-throws for each age group.

Fifth-grade free-throw winners: Leah Gorr, first place; Emily Heltzel, second place; Paige Evans, third place.

Fifth-grade lay-up winners: Sara Lojewski, first place; Maddie Kelley, second place; Talia Kosierowski, third place.

Sixth-grade free-throw winners: Courtney Hoats, first place; Katie Kapral, second place; Lauren Dottor, third place.

Sixth-grade lay-up winners: Caroline Banas, first place; Emilee Zawatski, second place; Katie Kravitsky, third place.

Boys

Dallas Youth Basketball recently held its annual fifth-grade boys skills competition.
