Summit Christian Academy graduate Olivia Kashuba scored a pair of second half goals and Jem Crockford added a goal and an assist to lead Keystone College to a 3-1 victory over Notre Dame of Maryland University in the Colonial States Athletic Conference women’s soccer opener for both teams Saturday afternoon. The win snaps a three-game losing skid for the Giants, who improve to 2-4 overall and 1-0 in conference play.

Crockford opened the scoring in the 24th minute as the junior collected a cross from Lauren Nardelli and deposited the ball in the back of the net for her first goal of the season. Keystone took the one-goal lead into the halftime break despite owning a 12-3 advantage in shots in the opening 45 minutes of play.

The Gators were able to capitalize early in the second half to tie the score at 1-1 as Cristina Barios-Lopez scored in the 48th minute with Raeden McCullough assisting on the tally.

The deadlock would not last long, however, as Kashuba scored moments later with the eventual game-winning goal which was assisted by Crockford. Kashuba would then add an insurance tally, her team-leading third goal of the season, in the 69th minute.

For the game, Keystone held a 26-8 advantage in shots while both sides generated four corner kicks apiece.

Katelyn Coon picked up the win in goal after making six saves while going the distance in goal for Keystone.
