Kathryn M. Friar, of Ferguson Avenue, Shavertown, died Friday at Nesbitt
Memorial Hospital, KingstonBorn in Ashley, she was the daughter of the late
John and Ellen O’Brien Raber. She was a former resident of the Parsons section
of Wilkes-Barre.
She had resided in Shavertown since 1951. She was a member of the
Shavertown Fire Co. Auxiliary.
She was a member of St. Therese’s Church, Shavertown, and its Altar and
Rosary Society.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Keating; brothers, John,
Frank, Edward and James.
Surviving are her husband, Edward P.; daughter, Cathy Kross, Pittsburgh;
son, Edward P. Jr., Trucksville; six grandchildren; brother, Leo, Colonia,
N.J.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday from the Harold C. Snowdon
Funeral Home, 140 N. Main St., Shavertown, with a Mass of Christian Burial at
10 a.m. in St. Therese’s Church.
Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
Christian Wake Services will be 8:15 p.m. today.
